Italy, Istituto Comprensivo1 Citta Sant'Angelo

The Istituto Comprensivo 1 Città Sant'Angelo  is located in Abruzzo, in the centre of Italian Adriatic coast. A natural and attractive landscape belongs to the whole region: there are uncontaminated beaches,  protective areas , high mountains and green hills.
The chief town of the province is Pescara and it is few minutes drive from the Institute.
Agricolture, tourism and small industries represent the main income: high quality wines and oil are produced , while handcrafts and trade represent the remaining part of total profits. Città Sant'Angelo is rich in history and cultural events. Traditions  and cultural heritage are deeply taken into consideration.
Our Institute groups 4 schools divided into Infant, Primary and Secondary schools. They are distributed in a large area from hills to seaside. Our students are between three and fourteen years old.
Students attending the school belong to the local community, but a significant part of them are immigrants, coming from the different countries so the students are open for knowing other cultures and sharing the values.
European dimension is part of school programmes, foreign languages learning is one of the main aims of Institute.
Music, art, traditions and local culture are very important and these subjects have got an important place in the curriculum.
At the same time we belive that a Comenius project offers the possibility to increase the opportunity of growth and development so taking part in this partnership project will create many opportunities for the students to open their point of view between european cultures, to improve their skills, their motivation and to built a really european citizenship.
