Our school is located in Polatlı town,which is far one hour away from Ankara,the capital and the second biggest city of Turkey.Ankara is like a heart of Turkey because many civilizations such us Hittites,Phrygians,Lydians,Persians,Romans,Byzantines,Seljuks and Ottomans lived in these soils throughout the history and they left us a huge inheritance of an ancient but still living culture and history.Hence;our students and public come from multicultural origins like Tatars,Turkomans,Yürüks(Nomads).We have a big school building and garden,computer and science&technology laboratories for our pupils where we are trying to create the best educational environment for them with our colleagues and headteachers.Thus;one of our approaches is to introduce our students European countries and their educational systems,living styles,cultures,history via this Comenius project.We believe that the best way in education for students is to learn by living or doing it themselves.So;our students will take part in sociocultural activities;theatres,sketches,musicals,local dances with our traditional local clothes and music in this Comenius project.We are an active school in many cultural and sport activities,literary activities such as poem or essay contests,dance activities despite of living in a disadvantaged area and coming from low-income families.In addition; we integrate physically and mentally disabled students to our coeducational system. One of the greatest stories in mythology,''the King Midas'',was a famous Phyrigian king for his donkey ears who has an ability to turn everything to gold he touched, came true in Gordion,the ancient capital city of Phrygians,in Polatlı.We would like to revive this as well as other important historical and mythological events ,that give direction and inspiration to our nation and other nations, with our fascinating musical instruments.We'd like to turn everything gold in educational system with participation of our and other European students like our mythological character did.We are going to take videos during the project to make a short film including performances of all the partners at the end of the project and thus;we will be able to learn many new things about the European countries' educational system,history,living style and culture and publish it to the people with the help of communication tools like local press,radio or tv.In this way,we think that interaction between people will begin and stay in our common memories.
